8. Other Primary Assessments
MAP Primary had two additional assessments that can be used with early grade learners (Pre-K to early K) and students with special needs. These assessments are:
- diagnostic (measure student attainment of specific early skills)
- non-adaptive
- can be used as pre-test and post-test
- can be used multiple times
- can be made available at any time during the school year
- take 10 minutes or less to complete
- computer based
The two types of additional assessments are:
- Screener - for early or pre-K. Assess foundational reading and math skills.

- Math Screener
- Skills Checklists - 10 reading and 28 math assessments that measure student proficiency of a specific early learning skill.
- Reading Skills Checklists
- Consonant blends - digraphs
- Decoding multi-syllable words
- Decoding patterns - word families
- Letter identification
- Manipulation of sounds
- Phoneme identification
- Phonological awareness
- Syllable types (CVC-CVCe-R-Controlled)
- Vowel-digraphs diphthongs
