8. Other Primary Assessments

MAP Primary had two additional assessments that can be used with early grade learners (Pre-K to early K)  and students with special needs.  These assessments are:

  • diagnostic (measure student attainment of specific early skills)
  • non-adaptive
  • can be used as pre-test and post-test
  • can be used multiple times
  • can be made available at any time during the school year
  • take 10 minutes or less to complete
  • computer based

The two types of additional assessments are:

  • Screener - for early or pre-K.  Assess foundational reading and math skills.

  • Skills Checklists - 10 reading and 28 math assessments that measure student proficiency of a specific early learning skill.

      • Phoneme identification
      • Phonological awareness
