  1. SS25 Z1 Chemistry - Johnson
  2. Chapter 12 - Stoichiometry and limiting reagents
  3. Learning objectives & resources for: Stoichiometry and limiting reagents

Learning objectives & resources for: Stoichiometry and limiting reagents

Completion requirements

In this unit, students will be able to:

1)  Determine the amount of reactant(s) required to achieve a certain amount of product in a reaction using a properly balanced chemical equation and stoichiometry.

2)  Determine the amount of product(s) produced when provided a certain amount of reactant(s) using a properly balanced chemical equation and stoichiometry.

3)  Determine the limiting and excess reagent in a chemical reaction when provided key information of the reaction.

4)  Determine the amount of excess reagent remaining in a reaction when provided key information of the reaction.

NOTE:  For video tutorials on how to calculate each of the above, click on the appropriate file in the tutorial folder below or click here for a tutorial on stoichiometry and here for a tutorial on calculating excess reagent remaining.  The Crash Course Chemistry tutorial video here.
