Learning objectives & resources for: Metric system
In this unit, students will be able to:
1) Differentiate between qualitative and quantitative data.
2) Calculate measurements and perform mathematical functions using scientific notation (demonstrating a fluency with both addition/subtraction and multiplication/division rules).
3) Understand the significance and proper use of significant figures. Click here for an online tutorial for significant figures.
4) Calculate all numbers using the rules of significant figures.
5) Measure, convert, and perform mathematical functions utilizing the SI system (metric system) of measurements
6) State the base SI unit for measurements (kg, m, L, K, etc)
7) Demonstrate a knowledge of density through use of mathematical calculations.
8) Perform conversions from the Celsius scale to the Kelvin scale of temperature and vice versa.
