MUS-06.Pr.04.2b When analyzing selected music, read and identify by name or function standard symbols for rhythm, pitch, articulation, and dynamics.

Choir Student Learning Targets

Knowledge Targets

  • I can identify quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, quarter rests, half rests, whole rests
  • I can recognize the direction of the musical line
  • I can identify dynamics (pp, p, mp, mf, f, ff)

  2.5 The student demonstrates no major errors or omissions regarding the simpler details and processes (Score 2.0 content) and partial knowledge of the more complex ideas and processes (Score 3.0 content).

  • sometimes read and identify standard symbols for rhythm, pitch, articulation, and dynamics at grade level.
 
  1.5 The student demonstrates partial knowledge of the simpler details and processes (Score 2.0 content) but exhibits major errors or omissions regarding the more complex ideas and procedures (Score 3.0 content).
1.0 The student can:
  • rarely read and identify standard symbols for rhythm, pitch, articulation, and dynamics.
 
  0.5 With help, the student demonstrates a partial understanding of some of the simpler details and processes (Score 2.0 content) but not the more complex ideas and processes (Score 3.0 content).
0.0 Even with help, the student demonstrates no understanding or skill.

  • Formal large ensemble concerts

  2.5 The student demonstrates no major errors or omissions regarding the simpler details and processes (Score 2.0 content) and partial knowledge of the more complex ideas and processes (Score 3.0 content).

  • arrive to the performance after the required time without prior notification.

  • attire does not meet school defined expectations.

  • struggles to demonstrate appropriate behavior and occasionally engages in such activities as: talking, inappropriate audience interaction, or non-academic  use of electronic devices.

  • is not fully prepared. (music/instruments/accessories etc)
