half-plane

on a coordinate plane, the shape of the region of possible solutions generated by a single inequality

hypotenuse

the side opposite the right angle in any right triangle—the hypotenuse is the longest side in a right triangle

hypothesis

the part of a logical statement that provides the premise on which the conclusion is based—In a statement “If x then y,” the hypothesis is x.
