This BPSS-Health is Bismarck Public School District’s workspace for prioritizing and deconstructing standards to provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn. The standards are designed to provide guidance so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help students. Plus help students reflect on the knowledge and skills that they need for success.

BPS-Standards for Health
These standards adopted from ND Content Standards give BPS the flexibility for classroom learning experiences to develop healthy literate individuals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful activity.
A high-quality health program is essential for all students. It provides a foundation for intelligent and precise thinking. Health should also provide every student with the opportunity to choose among a full range of future career paths and to contribute to society as an informed citizen. To be a responsible and productive member of today’s society a student needs to have a broad, connected, and useful knowledge of health.
