Learning objectives & resources for: Problem solving using dimensional analysis

Completion requirements

In this unit, students develop the skills required to demonstrate when solving problems.  It is a factor-label technique to solving, where the dimensions (labels) are factored out using memorized conversions.  All students will be able to:

1)  show all of the steps in performing one-step conversions

2)  utilize the factor-label technique to perform multiple-step conversions.  Crash Course Chemistry video on this is here.

NOTE:  It is imperative that all students have a solid understanding of metric conversion factors in this chapter and all future chapters.  Click here or the "factor label video" below for a tutorial on how to perform conversions.  For online help with dimensional analysis, click here.
