What is PowerTeacher Pro?
PowerTeacher Pro is the upgraded HTML version of your current PowerTeacher Gradebook. It will perform all the same functions as your current gradebook, but the look and feel have been updated, and some new features and functions have been added.
How is this different from my current PowerTeacher Gradebook?
The biggest change is that PowerTeacher Pro is an HTML gradebook. This means it works like a website - so no more downloading and installing java files to access your gradebook! PowerTeacher Pro will work on any device that has a browser (PC, chromebook, smart phone, tablet).
What can PowerTeacher Pro do that my old PowerTeacher gradebook couldn't?
Well, besides being accessible from any device with a browser, the PowerTeacher Pro gradebook provides some real-time analytic graphs of student score trends, automatic grouping of like-courses, embedded views of the parent/student portal, the ability to hide unused or old categories, the ability to create student-specific assignments, and more!
Do I have to use PowerTeacher Pro?
- For the 2017-2018 school year, all Middle School teachers at BPS will be migrated to the new PowerTeacher Pro gradebook. (You'll LOVE it!)
- For the 2018-2019 school year, all Elementary and High School teachers at BPS will be migrated to the new PowerTeacher Pro gradebook. (Make sure to ask Middle School teachers what they love about it!)
I've spent a lot of time getting my "old" PowerTeacher gradebook set up. Do I have to start completely over?
Nope. PowerTeacher Pro imports your current courses, categories, and assignments during the migration process. All you have to do is take some time to copy assignments that you'd like to re-use and organize your categories.
What happens to my "old" gradebook when I migrate to PowerTeacher Pro?
You will still have access to launch your "old" PowerTeacher gradebook, and view information from prior years and terms, but it will be "view only."
