K-8 Grade Levels

Grade 07

7th grade logoThe 7th grade math BPS-prioritized standards were selected to level up your child's problem-solving skills with a deeper dive into numbers and real-world applications!

They'll solidify their understanding of fractions, decimals, and integers, confidently tackling multi-step problems that involve all three.  Technology will even become a helpful tool as they convert rational numbers to decimals.
Ratios and proportions become a powerful duo!  Your child will calculate unit rates, analyze graphs and tables to understand variable relationships, and use proportional reasoning to solve complex problems involving ratios, percents, and even scale drawings.  Algebra enters a new chapter as they explore linear expressions.  Using their knowledge of operation properties, they'll add, subtract, factor, and expand these expressions, writing equivalent forms with variables and numbers.  Solving equations becomes a multi-step adventure as they tackle various formats to find the unknown value.
The world around them transforms into geometric shapes!  Circles become familiar friends as your child explores the relationship between circumference and diameter.  Formulas will help them calculate both the area and circumference of circles with ease.  They'll delve deeper into polygons, calculating their areas, and explore the surface area of 3D shapes like prisms and pyramids using nets to solve real-world problems.
Data analysis skills become more sophisticated as they use random samples to draw inferences about entire populations.  Measures of center and variability will become their secret weapons to understand data sets.  They'll even develop probability models to predict the likelihood of future events.
This exciting 7th grade math program will equip your child with the problem-solving and critical thinking skills they need to conquer future math challenges!
