Kindergarten (PED) Targeted Standards


Standard 1: Student demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.

Standard Calculation

Outcome Expectations:

By the end of Grade 5, the learner will demonstrate competence in fundamental motor skills and selected combinations of skills; use basic movement concepts in dance, gymnastics and small-sided practice tasks; identify basic health-related fitness concepts; exhibit acceptance of self and others in physical activities; and identify the benefits of physically active lifestyle.

Kindergarten (PED) Physical Education Outcome

Standard 1: Student demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.

PED-00.S1.16a - Drops a ball and catches it before it bounces twice.

  4. Catch the ball with two hands before it bounces again

  • Hardly ever performs all four cues

(2) Developing

  • Sometimes performs all four cues

(3) Proficient

  • Always performs all four cues

(4) Advanced

  • Always performs all four cues and catches the ball with hands extended away from body.
